Youstart Ghana Application – YouStart is an initiative by the government to offer financial support to the youth to help them start their businesses. Ghanaians aged 18-40 years with a valid Ghana card and willing to start a business or needing training/grants can apply.

The YouStart Empowerment Programme is funded by the Government of Ghana to offer financial support to the youth to help them start their businesses.

Overview

The YouStart Ghana Jobs and Skills Project is a Government of Ghana initiative with financing and technical support from the World Bank.

The program is intended to complement government’s efforts to reduce the high rate of youth unemployment.

YouStart is a vehicle through which Government intends to provide funding and technical support to youth and youth-led businesses who fall vwithin this category to assist them start, build and grow their businesses.

GEA will implement Entrepreneurship Training and
Grant Support under Component 2.1 of the World
Bank Funded Ghana Jobs and Skills Project (GUSP).

The youth entrepreneurship and Start-up grants are
expected to culminate into job creation, job
sustainability, business innovation and growth for
enterprises owned by the youth in the country,
leading to the reduction of social vices due mainly to unemployment amongst the youth.

Eligibility Criteria:

GEA will provide training to 50,000 youth and deploy
financial support to 5,000 selected youth who
successfully undergo training up to the intermediate level.

The following category of youth will be targeted:

>>> Between the ages of 18 to 40 years

>>> Minimum of Basic Education Certificate
Examination

>>> Willingness to start a business

>>> School dropouts already in a business would be
considered

>> Special attention would be given to women and
Persons with Disabilities (PWD)

Application Requirements:

You will need the following documents/information
to complete your application:

a. Digital Address
b. Valid National ID Card, preferably “Ghana Card
C. Certificate of the most, recent education attained
d. Valid mobile number

Application Timeline

A link will be opened for a period of 6 weeks for the youth to apply and eligible persons will be contacted. This is open for People with special needs too.
