The Tony Elumelu Foundation is a non-profit organization that empowers African entrepreneurs. The Tony Elumelu Foundation focuses on strengthening African economies by developing and supporting African entrepreneurs.

The African Leadership Academy

The African Leadership Academy (ALA) is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships for students from Africa who want to develop themselves and build the future of their continent. ALA offers two types of opportunities: The African Leadership Academy Fellowship Program and the Global African Experience Program. The fellowship program has two components: a four-month fellowship that takes place in Ghana, followed by an eight-month internship at an institution of your choice; and a four-month fellowship with an eight-month internship at ALA.

The Future Africa Leaders’ Scholarship Program

The Future Africa Leaders’ Scholarship Program is an initiative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) that aims to empower Africans with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to build strong democracies. The program provides scholarships for African citizens from USAID partner countries studying at U.S. universities, institutions of higher education, or vocational schools. Funding for the scholarship includes a $10,000 award from USAID and a contribution of up to $2,000 from participating universities and institutions of higher education.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship

The Mandela Washington Fellowship is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Young African Leaders Initiative and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). It aims to empower Nigerian youths between the ages of 18-30 with leadership skills through a year-long fellowship experience in their own country. Fellows are then prepared for leadership roles in their communities by participating in customized courses taught by Nigerian leaders, as well as internships with relevant organizations such as YALI Network Partner organizations, PEPFAR, and other governmental entities.

The Young African Leaders Initiative

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YA LI) is an innovative, high-impact program that cultivates and accelerates the leadership skills of Africa’s next generation of emerging leaders. The YA LI is a cross-disciplinary program that seeks to develop new approaches for addressing development challenges by promoting the next generation of Nigeria and African leaders.

The Anzisha Prize

The Anzisha Prize is the world’s most prestigious award for young African entrepreneurs. The prize is awarded annually, with five finalists chosen from a selection of Africa’s best and brightest youth entrepreneurs, who are then given access to training, mentoring and funding opportunities.

The One Young World Summit

The One Young World Summit, also known as ‘Youth Takeover’ is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young people aged 18-30 from all over the world who want to make a positive difference. At The One Young World Summit, you will get the chance to meet and learn from global leaders, network with like-minded peers, and take part in workshops that will give you the tools you need to create real change.

Queen’s Young Leaders Programme

The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme (QYLP) is a scholarship programme that provides leadership training, support and mentorship opportunities for young people between the ages of 18-25 from all over the world. The aim of the programme is to empower young people with skills and knowledge in order to make them active participants in shaping their countries, communities and future.

The Africa Youth Awards

The Africa Youth Awards is an annual event that recognizes and awards excellence in African youth. The award ceremony, which takes place at the United Nations General Assembly Hall each year, serves as a platform for Africa’s best young entrepreneurs and changemakers to meet, network, exchange ideas and share best practices with their peers from across the continent.

The AfricaCom Awards

The AfricaCom Awards, which will be hosted at the AfricaCom International Exhibition and Conference, are an opportunity for African countries to have a platform for promoting their excellence and showcasing their accomplishments.

NITDA Empowerment Opportunities

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is the official Government body that develops and regulates Information Technology in Nigeria. NITDA is committed to implementing the National Digital economy policy for digital Nigeria. Our mandate is to create a framework for the planning, research, development, standardization, application, coordination, monitoring, evaluation and regulation of Information Technology practices in Nigeria.

Halogen Cyber Competition

Halogen group formerly known as Halogen Security Company Limited was incorporated in July 1992 as a private limited liability company, to fill the yawning gaps in quality security services in Nigeria. We lead the West African security solutions market, as we continually focus on delivering valued solutions across the industry’s value chain as the number one integrated safety and security solutions group.

Halogen in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development intends to use this initiative to create an enabling environment for young people to develop the capabilities to mitigate against cyber-attacks, thereby empowering them to maximise opportunities in the cybersecurity space, within and outside Nigeria.

Orange Corners Programme

Orange Corners is managed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency at the request of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Team works closely together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands and local partners in each programme country.

Orange Corners aim to develop and strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Nigeria. This ecosystem should enable youth to develop their business concept and become successful entrepreneurs, by providing them with the necessary opportunities, skills and access to markets.

AfDB Grant

The overarching objective of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group is to spur sustainable economic development and social progress in its regional member countries (RMCs), thus contributing to poverty reduction.

Project GEST

The Delta State Girl Child Empowerment office seeks to train young females within the age of 18 – 30 in highly sought-after skills. Girls above 30 years of age and those who have previously been trained and empowered by the State Government through other entrepreneurship programmes are not eligible to apply.

AfDB Grant

AFAWA aims to unlock $5 billion in financing for small and medium-sized enterprises owned and managed by women by 2026. AFAWA is supported by the Bank’s partners and donors, G7 countries, as well as the Netherlands, Sweden, and the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi). The funding, which aims to strengthen the ecosystem for women’s entrepreneurship, is in line with the Bank’s agenda to further gender equality and women’s empowerment.

AFAWA is offering grants of up to $250,000 to organizations helping prepare African women-led businesses to drive the continent’s economies.

The program supports projects that enhance the viability and sustainability of formal women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and enables them to access financing opportunities to grow their businesses.

Dangote Foundation

The Dangote Foundation is dedicated to adding value to people’s lives across Africa by facilitating health, education and empowerment initiatives.

The Foundation also supports stand-alone projects with the potential for significant social impact. The Foundation works with state and national governments and many highly reputable international and domestic charities, non-governmental organisations and international agencies to advance its humanitarian agenda.
