The University of Port Harcourt was established in 1975 as a College of the University of Lagos and gained full autonomous status in 1977. University of Port Harcourt, Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions below:

  1. Director, Internal Audit
  2. Deputy Director (Procurement)
  3. Chief Security Officer
  4. Headmaster / Headmistress, University Demonstration Primary School (UDPS)

Director, Internal Audit

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Qualifications

  • The right candidate for this position must possess an Honours Degree or HND with at least Lower Credit in Accounting from a recognized higher Institution and either ACA, CNA, ACMA and at least fourteen (14) years cognate experience, four (4) of which must have been as Deputy Director (Audit) plus NYSC Discharge/Exemption /Exclusion Certificate. Possession of Higher degrees will be an added advantage.

Deputy Director (Procurement)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Qualifications

  • The right candidate for this position must possess an Honours Degree or HND with at least Lower Credit in the following areas from a recognized higher Institution: Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, Statistics, Law, Computer Science, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, Quantity Surveying or other related disciplines and at least fourteen (14) years cognate experience, four (4) of which must have been as Head of a Procurement Unit, plus NYSC Discharge/Exemption /Exclusion Certificate.
  • He or she must also be a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN) and must be abreast with the workings, procedures of the Bureau of Public Procurement and Public Procurement Act.

Chief Security Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Qualifications

  • The right candidate for this position must possess an Honours Degree in Law / Criminology / Security Studies / Public Administration / Sociology and other related disciplines, with at least fourteen (14) years cognate experience plus NYSC Discharge / Exemption / Exclusion Certificate.
  • He or she must have verifiable track record of competence, four (4) of which must be as a Deputy Chief Security Officer or a retired Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) or its equivalent rank in any of the Armed Forces with a minimum of ten(10) years experience on the job.
  • He or she must have been trained in Crime Management, Prevention and Control and must be in a very good health condition to be able to withstand the demands of this Office.

Headmaster / Headmistress, University Demonstration Primary School (UDPS)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Qualifications

  • The right candidate for this position must possess a good Honours Degree in Education from a recognized University, with at least fourteen (14) years cognate experience, four of which must have been as an Assistant Headmaster / Headmistress, plus NYSC Discharge / Exemption / Exclusion Certificate.
