SASSA COVID-19 SRD Grant – We are pleased to inform the general public that the South Africa President has declared a National State of Disaster as a result of the Covid-19 global pandemic. In this regard he introduced a special Covid 19 Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) of R350 per month for 6 months to be paid to individuals who are currently unemployed, do not receive any form of income, social grant or UIF payment etc.

The Special COVID-19 social Relief of distress grant got off to a slow start due to excessive traffic on the SASSA website .Therefore an online channel for application in order to ease the pressure on our website namely Facebook messenger, https://www.facebook.com/govchat.org has also been created by SASSA.

Applicants willing To Apply should provide the Following:

1. Identity Number or Department of Home Affairs Refugee permit number
2. Name and Surname as captured in the Identity Document
3. Gender and Disability
4. Contact details – Cell phone number
5. Residential Address
