Link To Apply for Nigerian e-passport – Nigerians in the UNITED KINGDOM And UNITED STATES OF AMERICA can now apply for the TEN-YEAR validity enhanced ePASSPORT at the Missions according to a statement by the Nigerian Immigration service on Thursday.

OVERVIEW

The Enhanced Nigerian E-Passport is part of the new reforms approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It is a product of intensive review of the existing e-passport booklet which has been in circulation for over 10 years and has only 5-year validity.

WHEN WAS THE E-PASSPORTS LAUNCH?

The e-passports were launched last year to counter the passport booklet crisis facing the Service.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR NIGERIA E-PASSPORTS

All Citizens of Nigeria either by Birth, Descent, Adoption, Registration or Naturalization, are eligible for a Nigerian Passport, provided that they satisfy all conditions prescribed by law.

NIGERIAN E-PASSPORT EXPIRED

According to the Nigerian immigration services (NIS) the passport comes in 3 categories, which are 32-page 5-year validity, 64-page 5-year validity and 64-page 10-year validity.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET NIGERIAN PASSPORT

The timeline for processing e-passport is 5 weeks for fresh applications and 3 weeks for renewals.

HOW TO APPLY FOR NIGERIA E-PASSPORT

To Successful apply for the Nigerian e-passport carefully for the steps below:

1. Visit passport.immigration.gov.ng
2. Fill form and make payment online
3. After successful payment book appointment date.
4. Print appointment slip
5. Visit pre-selected mission and consulate with all required documents
6. NIN is mandatory for applying for the epassport

Visa On Arrival Process?

The Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS) has rolled out a new Visa on Arrival Application Process for all Business Travelers and African Union Countries except ECOWAS member Countries.

All Visitors coming to Nigeria from these countries shall be required to follow the process below:

The VOA facility is available to two categories of travelers:

1. Frequently traveled to High Net worth Investors with business interest in Nigeria.
2. Citizen of African Countries.

Eligibility

• Frequently Traveled Business Persons of International Reputes
• Executive of Multi-national Companies
• Member’s of Government Delegation
• Holder of United Nations Laissez-Passer
• Holders of African Union Laissez-Passer
• Holders of any other Officials Travel document of other recognized International organizations who intend to Visit Nigeria.

1. To begin your application, Please visit the NIS portal at https://portal.immigration.gov.ng and select Apply for Visa on Arrival.
2. Complete Application and Make Payments.

Note: Visa on Arrival is available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals who do not require a visa to visit Nigeria and other countries which Nigeria has entered into visa abolition agreements.
