Job Title: Field Operator I
Objective/Purpose of Job:
To operate, monitor and control the assigned units of the plant to process, store and export the products on specification, while maintaining company and HSE requirements and maximizing plant yield.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operates, monitors, and controls the assigned units of the oil/gas processing plant to process, store and export the products on specification, while maintaining company and HSE requirements and maximizing plant yield.
- Operates control panels, Well-heads to ensure safe and proper function and that products meet the required specifications and quantities.
- Assists in the operation and monitoring of UGPF, IGRF, City gate/Unicem PRMS/pipelines, and equipment by ensuring all safety procedures and rules both technical and practical are in place to ensure area safety of the plant.
- Daily monitor and record all plant operating parameters, flow rates, pressure. Temperature and level and report abnormalities to the Senior- Operator – II.
- Ensure that operations teams comply with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations of the Company in respect to HSE, etc.
- Ensure the implementation of proper Lockout / Tag-out (LOTO) of isolated process valves/ equipment during maintenance activities.
- Responsible for the recording of daily activities while on shift and ensure the control room operator is informed of the status of the plant at any given time in the field. • Ensures plant parameters are recorded effectively and the records are stored and backed up efficiently.
- Ensures the quality of crude/gas export to customers meets contractual specifications through field quality checks.
- Responsible for all field operations while on shift and ensure the plant is operated within a safe operating envelope.
- Carry out revalidation of PTW while on shift.
- Maintain and manage field activities production operations database.
- Ensure that equipment/devices are functioning properly and report/log-in all malfunctioning equipment/devices in the fault register.
- Ensures updated records are kept of all and for all corrective and preventive maintenance done on all process equipment and documented accordingly.
- Perform other duties that may be required from time to time.
Requirements for this Job:
- Minimum of OND in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering with one-year post-NYSC experience in process plant operations in oil/gas production & processing facility, refining, petrochemical.
- Working knowledge of oil and gas operations (amine and glycol systems, compression, pipelines, measurement, etc.)
- Must be able to develop written procedures for the O&M of all components used in gas processing, crude/condensate stabilization, oil production, and export facility.
- Working knowledge of wellhead operations including but not limited to surface/subsurface data retrieval, routine operations, and reporting.
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as by self without direction.
- Good time management, communication, and people skills.
- Must have the ability to remain calm under duress and in emergency situations.
- Must be computer literate with experience working with Microsoft Office packages.
