The OPEC Fund’s Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a structured two-year program designed to train young professionals from the OPEC Fund’s member countries for a career in global development.

OPEC is currently seeking people with a passion for and dedication to international development who exhibit academic achievement and appropriate professional experience.

We especially want to hear from people with the motivation and ambition to help developing countries overcome their most pressing difficulties in the pursuit for social, environmental and economic progress.

Eligibility and Requirements

1. OPEC Fund Member Country national
2. Be 30 years of age or younger at the time of application
3. Have obtained at least a Master’s degree from a reputable university
4. Excellent Academic performance
5. Be fluent in English
6. Proficiency in one or more languages is desirable
7. Have a minimum of 3 years of work experience
8. Specialize in a field relevant to the OPEC Fund’s operations, such as Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Law, Human Resources, and any other relevant discipline
9. Ability to work in a global and culturally diverse institution
10. An understanding of the OPEC Fund’s mandate
11. Willingness to serve the OPEC Fund, if selected, for a minimum of two years upon completion of the Programme

Application Deadline

The deadline for applications is 30 April 2023. Successful applicants are chosen following a rigorous selection process. Those offered a place on the YPDP are expected to respond within two weeks.
