Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola have disclosed the reason behind the inability of the ministry to conclude recruitment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as well as the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), saying the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted the exercise recently.

The Minister however, said that the ministry has concluded plans with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to conduct a Computer Based Test for candidates who have been shortlisted.
It was reported also that the government of Nigeria has said it is planning to recruit about one million Nigerian youths before 2021 into Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The Minister revealed that the Federal government is making arrangement to conduct aptitude test for over one million applicants.
According to Aregbesola, it would enable Nigerian youths be recruited into the vacant positions in the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps before 2021.
