Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
- Postgraduate degree in communication, international development, gender or any related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of Communication work experience in international development required; ideal candidate will have both theoretical and practical background in communications.
- Knowledge of program development, implementation and reporting.
- Experience in facilitation and building team capacity to deliver high-quality results.
- Vast experience in producing films, documentaries, digital content and other appropriate communications materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Adobe, WordPress, CorelDraw, Fireworks, Joomla, Flash CC and photo editing software.
- Experience interfacing with media, corporations and key stakeholders required.
- Fluency in written and verbal English required. Fluency in Hausa is desired.

Deputy Finance Manager
Location: Borno
Deadline: 30th April, 2021.
Accountability
- Reports Directly To: Field Finance Manager
- Works Directly With: Compliance and Finance department in Abuja, program and operational Teams in Northeast Nigeria
- Knowledge and Experience
- Five or more years of compliance and finance experience is required.
- A university degree in finance, accounting or equivalent is required.
- Three years of experience in the finance and compliance department of an international NGO is preferred.
- Demonstrated competency with computerized general ledger software
- Strong computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel
- Prior management experience and strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written English skills
- Strong account and budgeting skills
- In-depth understanding of major donor rules, regulations, and implications on budgeting and budget monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience and skill in budget preparation and presentation and proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative reports.
- Knowledge of Hausa is preferred.
- Working experience in Northeast Nigeria a plus.

Knowledge and Experience
- BA / BS or equivalent in Conflict Studies, Social Sciences or other relevant fields; MA/S preferred.
- Five (5) years of international relief and development program management experience, in peacebuilding and conflicts
- Established ability to manage and communicate effectively with team members of varied work styles.
- Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem-solving.
- Proven ability to learn quickly, lead a program to achieve stated results and objectives.
- Experience with the development, implementation & compliance of (donors) & (corporate/private) funded programs.
- Ability to effectively represent Mercy Corps and its interests to key stakeholders.
- Experience working with host governments, national and international NGOs.
- Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent oral and written English skills required; proficiency in Haus is an added advantage
- Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment.
- Previous experience in insecure environments.
- Internationally recognized qualification in project or program management or a commitment to obtain the qualification in the early months of work.
