“The increasing number of positive cases in the country is a wakeup call for residents to observe various Covid-19 preventive protocols including maintenance of 5 Feet distance between individuals and ensuring that when coughing and sneezing one covers mouth and nose with a tissue or with flexed elbow. Used tissues are to be disposed immediately.
Other preventive protocols to be observed by residents are frequent and thorough washing of hand with soap under running water and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer, when soap and water are not available.
Residents are also advised to put on facemask in public places and stay safe at home if there is no urgent need to go out.
Covid-19 is real and it is in the mutual interest of everyone to take responsibility and stay safe.
There is no known cure of the acute respiratory infection yet. It is true that there are breakthroughs in the production of vaccines against the disease but such vaccines may not arrive Nigeria until after January, 2021.
Therefore, every citizen must do his own bit by staying safe and adhering to safety protocols.
