ASUU Update 2021 – FG Meets ASUU over a looming strike to discuss crucial steps to avert another nationwide strike across Nigerian universities.
According to a report on social media, the Delegations from the Nigerian government are expected to meet the Academic Staff Union of Universities leadership on Monday, August 2.
Also, The Punch reports that the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) are expected to meet with the delegations from the federal government on Monday, August 2.
Notice of the meeting was made known in a statement by Charles Akpan, the spokesperson of the ministry of labour and employment.
Akpan noted that Senator Chris Ngige, the minister of labour will be hosting the union at a meeting at the federal secretariat in Abuja.
ASUU’s chairman at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Ibrahim Inuwa had earlier explained that seven months after the Memorandum of Understanding was signed two out of the eight issues had been addressed.
