The Akwa Ibom State Government has directed the postponement of resumption of public schools from Monday 16th November 2020 to Monday 23rd November 2020.
A statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs Enobong Mbobo states that the new resumption date is to enable schools complete their examinations and record scores appropriately, noting that the ENDSARS protest had disrupted academic activities and the school calendar.
Sequel to this Public and Private schools in Akwa Ibom state will now resume for the first term 2020/2021 academic session on Monday 23rd November 2020.
According to the statement, new list of books for Secondary Schools have been approved by the Ministry and is available for collection at Room 389, Ministry of Education, Idongesit Nkanga secretariat, IBB Avenue, Uyo.

The statement advises Parents and Guardians to use the one week period to prepare their wards for resumption of new school year by providing books,uniforms, lockers as well as general stationaries to help them succeed.
