Offshore Structural Lead
Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek Offshore Structural Lead to work in their facilities located in Nigeria.
Role Description
Lead the Offshore Structure Engineering team in performing structural design activities according to Project needs and requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
Mission
- Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in/out information flow
- Maintain and develop technical skills, expertise, knowledge, procedures and tools as required for proposals and project execution
- Ensure the capitalization of Project experience in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies
Tasks
In The Case Of Call For Tender
- Analyze the complete scope of work and clearly identify objectives of the discipline and internal/external interfaces
- Analyze the technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) in order to assess the scope of the studies required and the potential risks
- Set up and issue the necessary clarification requests during the proposal phase as well as the qualifications included in the bid
- Seek as far as possible solutions which can improve overall competitiveness
- Estimate quantities or validate estimation done by other specialists of the team
- Estimate the budget required for the studies completion
- Set up the schedule of the execution studies and the associated plan for resources mobilization
In The Case Of Project Execution
- Analyze the complete scope of work and clearly identifies objectives of the discipline and internal/external interfaces
- Analyse the project technical documents in order to validate consistency between the budget, resources and means allocated for the work completion and the targets to be met
- Make the Technical Manager aware of the modifications or anticipated difficulties for meeting Client requirements
- Identify project hot spots, criticalities and activity priorities
- Organize the work of the team and write the project procedures for the execution and control of the structural studies
- Define and follow-up the planning of resources mobilization
- Prepare Project Design Premises
- Write or supervise the writing of the Structural Design Brief (the technical roadmap for the discipline engineering activities)
- Coordinate the engineering activities of the team members throughout the project with a permanent focus on optimization of quality, costs and schedule criteria
- Manage the different interfaces by coordinating the activities of the team with all the other stakeholders on the project (other engineering disciplines, project team, working sites, construction, installation etc.)
- Control the input data for the team activities and check/review all the documents issued by the team
- Supervise the writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations
- Inform on a permanent basis the Technical Manager and if required the Project Manager of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk
- Deal with Third Party Authority when the certification process of offshore structure design is required
- Deal with Marine Warranty Surveyor in the ambit of the surveying process of marine operations
- Provide weight and cog data to weight control engineer

Loss Prevention Lead
Mission
- Lead the Loss Prevention activities in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards
- Contribute to the capitalization of the Project experience in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies and to the continuous technical improvement
Tasks
- Take part to the commercial activities (promotion, pre-qualification and bidding) by assuring uniform approach and guidance crosswise the initiatives
- Use technological/technical know-how and in-house experience to support the commercial promotion activity
- Analyze the Tender Documents
- Take part in the definition of the detail project execution strategy
- Take part to the project risk assessment
- Define list of activities and deliverables, set up time schedule, coordinate activities in accordance with contractual requirements
- Ensure proper discipline workflow, interfaces, quality checks and approval of all discipline project documents
- Ensure discipline project progress, monitor and control man-hour consumption
- Coordinate the loss prevention activities of the team members throughout the project
- Support Project effort with identification of changes to the Contract scope
- Track and report to the Project Management the discipline scope of work changes updating man-hours and cost estimate
- Grant interface with the Client technical representative
- Participate to the multidisciplinary project reviews
- Manage the different interfaces
- For the materials and services within remit, define and issue Purchase Requisitions, ensuring Technical
- Bids Evaluations and Vendors/Subcontractors follow-up activities
- Inform on a permanent basis the Technical Manager and if required the Project Manager of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk

Electrical Lead
Mission
- Lead the Electrical Engineering activities in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards. Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise the exchange of information
- Contribute to the capitalization of Project experience in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies through continuous improvement and best practices
- Implement Company guidelines and KPI monitoring within the Project
Responsibilities
The PSL ensures the execution of the engineering activities within own area of responsibility, works following the TM guidelines, cooperates with the other Project positions and ensures the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements.
Tasks include: A-Development of Technology know how and Commercial support B-Feasibility
- Provide technical support to other Project positions for specialist aspects C-Bidding phase/Commercial proposal ? Analyse and understand Tender documentation
- Define Discipline list of activities and deliverables and coordinate activities in accordance with Project schedule ? Identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives to be submitted
- Implement bidding methodologies, design criteria and guidelines
- Define and issue Request for quotation and relevant Technical Bid Tabulation for not estimated in-house items
- Coordinate material quantities and weight estimation
- Prepare engineering man-hour and material cost estimations
- Support the Proposal Manager during technical clarification meetings with the Client D-Project Execution
- Ensure the achievement of the assigned goal and the fulfilment of the Project quality and contractual requirements. Take the necessary corrective actions within the Discipline Project Team to meet the assigned goal. Report to the TM for more extensive problems
- Define list of activities and deliverables, setup time schedule, coordinate activities in accordance with contractual requirements
- Ensure Discipline Project progress, monitor and control man-hour consumption
- Prepare technical annexes for engineering activities to be subcontracted
- Ensure subcontractor coordination and monitoring/reporting to PM of the Discipline budget costs
- Ensure proper Discipline workflow, interfaces, quality checks and approval of all Discipline Project documents, including Vendor ones
- Track and report to TM Discipline scope of work changes updating man-hour and cost estimates
- Provide technical support to Project functions including Procurement and Construction
- Support PM in technical interfacing with the Client (according to TM) ? Define and issue Purchase Requisitions
- Ensure Technical Bid Evaluations
- Ensure Vendor follow-up activities
- Provide technical support for the definition of the Discipline construction inspection plan

Fabrication & Hook up Manager
Mission
- Ensure the governance of projects and initiatives in terms of organisational, financial, technological and contractual aspects,
assuring the achievement of the established objectives
- Plan, coordinate and control the execution of the project, in accordance with Client requirements, within time and cost
constraints and in compliance with HSE and Quality procedures
- Achieve profit objectives ensuring the observance of company procedures and practices
Tasks
- Ensure, for the fabrication phase/activities performed both in internal and external yards, the achievement of the
established cost, time, quality, health, safety and environment objectives in order to meet the contractual obligations
- Express Fabrication needs during the E&P phase (e.g., Make or Buy, Constructability, Material Management) identifying
optimum balance between time, cost and feasibility
- Represent company towards Clients, Licensors, Partners and Subcontractors managing also contractual aspects
- Ensure the proper contract analysis and the review of contractual documents
- Ensure the implementation of methodologies related to risk and knowledge management and to company Golden and Silver
Rules
- Supervise the economic and financial tasks by defining the most appropriate methodology to be applied to produce the
project economic indicators of Feasibility
- Organize and hold the project kick-off meeting
- Define project strategies and the scope of work of each Party (e.g. Proposal Plan, Project Architecture, Project
Organization, Project Execution Plan, Quality Plan, Procurement Plan, Overall Resource Plan, etc.), ensuring the project
activity planning
- Approve and supervise planning and cost control activities supported by the other project organisation roles, implementing
the corrective actions needed to achieve the established project objectives
- Approve and manage the project cash flow
- Define the bid cost structure and approve the cost estimate with the support of the Estimator
- Ensure the integration of packages prepared by each Operating Company, Partners (if any) and Subcontractors and
reconcile possible discrepancies
- Manage the post-bid clarification phase with the Client
- Negotiate with Client to reach agreement on the outstanding pricing, commercial, contractual and technical aspects of the
proposal and of the variation orders
- Ensure the handover between Commercial and Execution Phase of the project
- Supervise home office engineering and procurement activities supported by the other project organisation roles
- Supervise site/yard and offshore activities
- Supervise all project activities with regards to quality and HSE topics, supported by the other project organisation roles
- Ensure the issue of project reports
- Ensure the collection of project feedbacks issuing final project reports (e.g. Cost Closure Report, Close-out Report, etc.)
- Ensure Client assistance during the guarantee period
